Rivers forming NSW state boundaries

The Murray River

The left bank of the Murray River constitutes the State Border of New South Wales with Victoria. The definition by a surveyor of any part of that bank will require the agreement of the Surveyors General of both States. Upon lodgment in NSW LRS all plans attempting to redefine the banks of the Murray River are referred to the Principal Cadastral Surveyor, Cadastral Integrity Group for determination.

Other rivers forming state boundaries

The middle thread of the Barwon, Macintyre and Dumaresq Rivers forms part of the border between New South Wales and Queensland. The usual principles for redefining land with frontage to non-tidal water will be adopted for plans fronting these rivers.
