We believe we are uniquely positioned to highlight the connection First Nations people have with land, water and country. As the trusted holders of land and titling information in NSW, it’s only right that we should have a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Acknowledgement of Country
NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) acknowledges the original custodians of the lands and waters that we work on and with - across the many and diverse nations of NSW.
We acknowledge the lands of the Gadigal people, of the Eora Nation, on which our head office is located. We pay our respects to elders, past and present and extend our respect to all First Nations people.
As the custodians of NSW land information, we thank those that have cared for Country and who continue to care for Country; we recognise that we must learn more about our shared history, so we may grow together and enrich our understanding; and we look to the future to contribute to the reconciliation envisaged in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

Our Vision for Reconciliation
Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.
We are aware of how our work registering land titles and ownership in NSW has deep synergy with the custodianship of land, and in 2022, our organisation embarked on a new and exciting journey together - a commitment to national reconciliation where we formalised our very first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan or "RAP".
Our vision for reconciliation is to continue to understand and build our knowledge as an organisation of the profound ‘Connection to Country’ that First Nations peoples have and to honour and celebrate this through our own connections with land and water.
Embarking on our Innovate RAP journey, we are well positioned and ready to begin embedding our aspirations, building on our inaugural Reflect RAP. We are motivated to listen, learn, and work alongside first Nation peoples to understand more about the special connection to land and knowledge of place that the First Peoples have.
We are striving to continue to raise our cultural confidence, acknowledging our nation’s shared past, and listening and learning from the lived experiences of First Nations peoples. We are continuing this journey, exploring what we can do to foster relationships and create more opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our aspirations and objectives toward reconciliation:
Support Reconciliation
Recognition of our role as an organisation to our employees, stakeholders and the community to support reconciliation and provide a platform for diversity and inclusion |
First Nations Engagement
Initiating cultural learning, embedding understanding that developing our cultural awareness and capability allows us to better engage with and understand the complexity of First Nations people |
Collaboration
A focus on growing our strategic networks to build capacity of First Nations people, businesses and communities, working to create lasting partnerships with stakeholders to accelerate opportunities |
Support First Nations Businesses

Our RAP Artwork – Land, Seas and Skies
We are extremely proud of our commissioned RAP artwork.
It represents the land, seas and skies and the complexities of who we are as people and how we come together to work towards a common goal, sharing a common purpose.
We are all interconnected, the same way in which the land and sea are intertwined. The recurring message throughout this piece is we’re stronger together.
