Essential Energy is an energy distributor and NSW Government owned corporation constituted by the Energy Services Corporations Act 1995 (NSW). As a state owned corporation, Essential Energy is committed to the principle of proactive release of information in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (NSW).
The Australian Energy Regulator has determined a fee which Essential Energy may charge for the release of information to the public relating to property conveyancing purposes.
Proposals by Essential Energy are recorded in its Geographic Information System (GIS). Information extracted from GIS will include a buffer of 30 metres either side of any proposal. Data is provided by Essential Energy for inclusion in the Central Register of Restriction (CRR) for land parcels where there is a possible proposal.
Essential Energy's CRR responses relate to Essential Energy's future proposals only and does not reflect if any customers have any proposed electrical works on the property.
Essential Energy will advise if any new works are planned for the property that will give rise to Essential Energy acquiring a right or interest in the land.
The information does not apply to any affectation registered on title or any infrastructure protected by the Electricity Supply Act 1995 (NSW) or anything discoverable by physical inspection of the property. A request for information relating to Essential Energy’s infrastructure located on the property (if any) is available on Essential Energy’s website www.essentialenergy.com.au
