We are excited to announce that new features are scheduled for implementation before the end-of-the-year to enhance your experience with NSW LRS Connect and further streamline the plan management process.
These features include a Pre-allocated Plan (PPN) Management function, allowing surveyors more freedom to make updates and changes to minimise delays; and a Digital Plan Builder, which will integrate the CAD Translator Digital Plan tool into the Plan Workspace, improving accessibility to the CAD Translator functionality. These features are discussed in more detail below.
New feature | Pre-allocated Plan Number (PPN) Management function
In response to your feedback, we are introducing the PPN Management function in NSW LRS Connect. Currently, surveyors are required to contact NSW LRS to request an update, withdrawal or transfer of more than 300 PPNs per month. This new function will enhance efficiency and convenience by empowering surveyors to take control of managing their PPNs independently through NSW LRS Connect.
The PPN Management function will allow surveyors to:
- Update PPN details and the NSW LRS records of the PPN
- Withdraw their own PPN
- Request the transfer or withdrawal of another surveyor’s PPN
New feature | Creation of Digital Plan file within the Plan Workspace
We are also pleased to release the Digital Plan Builder, a new section within the Plan Workspace, to streamline the creation of a Digital Plan file for electronic plan lodgments. The Digital Plan Builder will integrate the existing CAD Translator Digital Plan tool into the Plan Workspace, improving accessibility to the CAD Translator functionality.
This section will allow information sourced from the Digital Form Builder to be utilised in the creation of the Digital Plan file as well as allow surveyors to provide preferred parameters and SCIMS data, prior to before submitting the digital file for translation.
What is next?
NSW LRS will be hosting training webinars ahead of the release to assist you in familiarising yourself with these new features.
To ensure we can support surveyors utilising the CAD Translator tool and LandXML lodgments, NSW LRS will also be working closely with a focus group to help us understand integration of the LandXML file preparation within day-to-day processes. Feedback from this group, leading up to the release and continuing through implementation, will assist us with refining the solution to ensure it is fit-for-purpose and results in maximum benefit to the industry.
